Without God, There Is Dread

“Will evildoers never learn—those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the Lord? There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous.” Psalm 14:4-5
This verse implies that God is present with the faithful, and He is absent from the life of the wicked.  And it also tells us that dread accompanies those who live life without Him. We see godless people around us who seem to be living a carefree life, with want for nothing. But if God’s word is true, we should be on the lookout for the fear that goes along with one who rejects God.
This is a great verse to share at the beginning of a church service – “God is present in the company of the righteous.” Do you feel His presence in your own worship service, and in your daily walk?
