Yes, I used the word ‘erotic’ in a blog

God created erotic love.  Can I use the word “erotic” in a Bible blog?  Yes, because erotic love was created by our God.  Used in the right way, it is a gift and a blessing for us.  Song of Songs portrays many such passages, and here is a sample.

“How beautiful you are, my darling!
Oh, how beautiful!
Your eyes behind your veil are doves.
Your hair is like a flock of goats
descending from Mount Gilead.
Your teeth are like a flock of sheep just shorn,
coming up from the washing.
Each has its twin;
not one of them is alone.
Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon;
your mouth is lovely.
Your temples behind your veil
are like the halves of a pomegranate.
Your neck is like the tower of David,
built with elegance;
on it hang a thousand shields,
all of them shields of warriors.
Your two breasts are like two fawns,
like twin fawns of a gazelle
that browse among the lilies.”

  — Song of Songs 4:1-5

I know that these passages may seem out of place in a “serious” book like the Bible, but consider this – they are included in the divinely inspired Word.  Gos has a purpose in including these lines, and I believe it is to show us that erotic love, when properly enjoyed between a man and a wife, is right and good.  I, for one, am happy to heed this lesson!
